Diabetes and Types:
Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the blood glucose levels are high as the absorbing hormone insulin is produced quite less or not produced at all by pancreas. Insulin, a hormone produced by exocrine gland, helps glucose from food get into your cells to be used for energy. Sometimes body doesn’t produce enough insulin or doesn’t use it well. Glucose then stays in the blood and doesn’t reach the cells.

- Pathophysiology of Diabetes: Type 1 diabetes: This is an auto immune condition where the insulin producing beta cells are destroyed by the body’s immune system leading to the deficiency of beta cells in turn leading to the deficiency of insulin production.. The destruction of beta cells may take time but the onset of the disease is rapid and occurs very fast. Type 2 diabetes is condition where the body does not produce enough insulin or peripheral insulin resistance which means although insulin is produced it is unable to reduce the blood sugar levels.
